Private John Bedford, born Kentish Town London 22nd July 1926. John joined the 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards in 1944 and went on to serve in Palestine, Eygpt and London, completing 4 years service in 1948.

After leaving the army John went on to work at Gipsy Hill Teaching College for Ladies, later to become part of Kingston University, as Head Servicing Officer. He worked there until his retirement in 1991. During his retirement he travelled extensively but continued his Branch membership
with the London Branch.

John passed away peacefully on 11th December 2020 at his home in Kingston. He was married to Patricia Crowson on March 29th 1952 and had three children Julie, Susan and Peter. He is survived by his 3 children, 9 grand children and 8 great children. His wife Patricia who he married in 1952 predeceased him in 2018.
