Guardsman Bertie Bear's Colonel's Fund Appeal

The Colonel’s Fund has a new fund raiser - Bertie the Grenadier Bear! The brain child of Darren Heaton, father of Gdsm Heaton of The Inkerman Company, Bertie Bear has got off to a cracking start by enlisting the services of former WBC Heavyweight Champion, Frank Bruno,as his Appeal Chairman [www.frankbruno.co.uk] . Bertie Bear is currently on his way to Afghanistan with 216 Squadron RAF Brize Norton. His dairy is filling up nicely [see Discussion tab on his Facebook site] and you will find him at these events over the next couple of months.

15 April: at Wellington Barracks for the Grenadier Guards medals parade and event.

21 May: at Ramsgate British Legion with his friend Clive Richards raising support for the Colonel’s Fund. If you would like to go along, please call Clive on 07899037561.

27 May: Bertie Bear will be taking part in the 70th Dunkirk Anniversary crossing with Clive from Ramsgate RBL. To find out more, visit http://www.adls.org.uk/t1/content/70th-anniversary-commemorative-return-dunkirk .Also on 27 May, he will set off on a Pilot Boat, visiting a number of different UK ports over 10 days.

12 June: at The Queen’s Birthday Parade with the First Battalion.
