Funeral of 2619229 Arthur Crawley

13 January 2016

It is with deep regret that I write to inform you of the passing of 2619229 Arthur Crawley who died on the morning of the 1st January 2016, following a short illness.

Arthur served from 1939 to 1945 at the Guards Training Depot preparing troops for overseas service. On leaving the Regiment, Arthur joined the Northamptonshire Police Force (as it was called then) and rose through the ranks to become a Detective Inspector in the serious crimes squad dealing with murder enquiries and major bank robberies.

A stalwart of the Branch, Arthur was an active Member of the Northamptonshire Branch, through to two months before his passing. He served as Treasurer to the Branch for over twenty years, before his retirement in 2013. His last trip out with the Branch was to Corby on National Remembrance Day.

A meticulous man with an eye for detail, and always available to support the Branch if and when required. Arthur will be missed by us all at the Northamptonshire Branch, and our thoughts are with his family at this time.

Arthur's funeral will be held at 1100hrs on Friday 22nd January 2016 at the All Saints' Church, George Row, Northampton, NN1 1DF. There will be a reception at The Great Hall, The Guild Hall, St Giles' St, Northampton, NN1 1DE following the church ceremony.
