Mental Health Research - PTSD and Moral Injury

6 February 2019

Professor Neil Greenberg - a Senior Academic Researcher at the Kings Centre for Military Mental Health Research (KCMHR) - will conduct a research study looking at the experiences and potential impact of moral injury (conflict of morals related to traumatic experiences which is perceived to complicate the issue of traumatic stress) in UK Armed Forces veterans. As a brief overview, taking part in the project involves an online questionnaire (approx. 15 minutes) about Veteran's thoughts, feelings and responses following challenging experiences in the military. There is also the option to take part in a telephone interview (approx. 60 minutes). Taking part is completely anonymous and confidential, and interview participants are each given £20 as a small thank you for their time. The study has been approved by the Kings College London Research Ethics Committee and is funded by the Forces in Mind Trust.

We are aiming to include around 200 Veterans in the online questionnaire to incorporate a wide range of views and experiences.
