GADSBY, K A (2615064)

K A Gadsby was my Grandfather. As a young boy, he would tell me about his time with the Grenadiers and part of his time at war. He died when I was 10 so my memories are quite vague. I am currently trying to piece together his life.

Gadsby, K A:

- Born in Lincolnshire on March 1915

- Enlisted into the Grenadier Guards at Nottingham Careers Office in October 1936  

- Joined the 3rd Battalion

- Awarded 1939-45 Star, North Africa Star 1st Army Clasp, Italy Star, Defence Medal

- Transferred to Army Reserves March 1946

- Married September 1957 in Lincolnshire and went on to have 2 daughters

- Died Feb 1995
