PRESCOTT, P G A Brigadier MC

I was only a young REME Craftsman when I first met the then Lt Col Prescott ,on a posting, my first posting , to 2nd Bn Grenadier Guards LAD in Munster. My OC passed on some personal papers to the CO which required his signature. Later I was informed by my OC, that the CO was ready to see me and to go and change into my best No 2 uniform. Five minutes afterwards Col Prescott again called my OC and asked him to send me up as I was, ie in my overalls. The RSM was livid when I entered the Bn HQ , and even more so when the CO stood up , and offered me his executive chair to sit in and sign the documents. He certainly dispelled the warnings given to me by my ASM that I would have to be doubly careful in this my new unit. May he Rest-In-Peace
