Anthony Souster was born in Wavendon 17/4/1937. He joined the Grenadier Guards in 1958 and went on to serve in Germany, Cyprus, two tours of Northern Ireland, Hong Kong and he then spent the last few years in the Guards Adventure Training Wing at Plasterdown, Dartmoor and then Fremington, North Devon. When he left the army in 1981 he went on to work as the Quartermaster Sgt for Eton College where he stayed until 1987. After this he returned to North Devon where he set up a Garden Maintenance business which he carried on working in, well into his 70's. Tony passed away on the 16/12/2019 at North Devon Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was married to Ruth whom passed away 17/2/2018 and is survived by two sons - Martin and Duncan - and six Grand Children whom all live in North Devon.
