Born in Broughton (Manchester area), UK, on May 22nd, 1924. Passed away in Aarschot (near Louvain), Belgium, on November 11, 2001. Moved to live in Belgium after his active career with the Grenadier Guards, 1st Battalion, in 1947. Saw action in WWII in France (Normandy), Belgium (Brussels, Louvain, Leopoldsburg), Netherlands (Nijmegen) and Germany. Married to Jenny Justens in 1948, father of 4 children.
