This is my Father Joseph Albert Hilsdon (surname is spelt wrong on site). My dad never spoke about his time during the war , we knew he was physically injured as he carried the scar on his chest and back and the bullet remained in his body. We never realised just how mentally injured he was, but looking back and watching him sleep, the pain was etched on his face. My dad was a great man, Father to six Children, many Grandchildren and a good friend to many. He never complained, and always worked hard to provide for his family.
