24425793 Mr R Parrott formerly 2nd Battalion

It is with great sadness we report the death of Mr Richard (Joey) Parrott, Joey was ‘The’ larger than life character remembered by many who served in the 2nd Battalion in Number Two Company, The Anti Tank Platoon and Headquarter Company where he finished his time as the Hoffman Presser and Equipment Repairer before leaving to be the caretaker of Cousldon TA Centre and then joining the Cadets as an Adult instructor which he has done for many happy years, there will be many that will remember his sense of humour especially at the toughest of times, our thoughts go out to his family, his Grenadier family of friends, the ACF and his many other friends from all walks of life, we thank him for his service in our great Regiment and may he rest in peace.

Funeral Details: Once we hear about the funeral we will let you know, he was living in Farnham but he is originally from Ramsgate where his family live.

On the second Saturday of every month we have the Grenadier Guards veterans breakfast at The Cock Inn Freehouse, Clare, Suffolk, CO10 8PX starting at 1000, the cost is £12.50 per person.

Each month we raise a small amount of money for Regimental Charities and we are regular contributors, raising £100’s each year to support our veterans, with Grenadiers travelling from far and wide to enjoy some good old Grenadier company.
