2628404 Mr George Lippiatt ( WW2 Veteran)
It is with great sadness that the Bristol Branch report the death of 2628404 George Lippiatt who passed away in hospital on Friday 11th April 2025.
George joined the Regiment in 1945 as a 'boy Soldier' and went on to serve nearly 40 years with the Colour, during this time he attained the rank of WO2. during the latter part of his service George was the recruiting Sergeant in the South West and worked in the recruiting offices of both Bristol City Centre and Weston-super-Mare.
Upon leaving the Regiment in the mid eighties George became a very active member of the Bristol Branch of the Association and would attend all of the Branch events accompanied by his Wife, Ida who passed away some years ago. In recent years George started the process to enter the Royal Hospital in Chelsea but could not see these plans come to fruition due to a decline in his health and remained in the West Country where, until very recently he still managed to involve himself with Branch affairs.
George was 97 years old at the time of his death, he was a great friend of the Bristol Branch and will be sadly missed.
Funeral details will be announced at a later date.
